Leeds United fans will always have a sense of what-if with former Whites talent Ronaldo Vieira at Elland Road.

The midfielder was sold during the first year of Marcelo Bielsa being in charge to allow Andrea Radrizzani to bring Patrick Bamford to Elland Road.

It has been a whirlwind few years in Italy and Serie A, with his initial move to Sampdoria not working before another switch to current side Hellas Verona.

Vieira was in action on Saturday afternoon, with Verona battling to an impressive 1-1 draw against Serie A giants Juventus.

The former Whites academy talent took to his personal Instagram account on Sunday, sharing a picture of himself and Cristiano Ronaldo; not bad company to have.

Kalvin Phillips and Tyler Roberts instantly appeared in the responses, with the Leeds duo clearly still keeping in touch with their former teammate.

"Massive," Roberts wrote. Phillips also went for the one-word response: "Big."

Perfect replacement missing?

Kalvin Phillips has been missing for numerous games this season, and things could be about to get even worst at Elland Road.

Pascal Struijk was forced off against Aston Villa on Saturday with what Mateusz Klich described as another injury for Bielsa to deal with.

This could have been the perfect opportunity for Vieira to prove himself in West Yorkshire, but the ship has well-and-truly sailed.

Vieira isn't exactly shining in Italy, though.

The 22-year-old only came off the bench for 23 minutes against Juventus and only made two tackles according to WhoScored.

Looking at the bigger picture, it appears as though Bielsa made the right decision to cut ties when the opportunity arose three years ago.
