Leeds United fans were on top form in the 2-1 win against Preston North End on Saturday.

The Whites welcomed Paul Heckingbottom back to Elland Road on 12 April and secured a massive three points in their promotion mission.

Goals from Manor Solomon and Jayden Bogle were enough to take the LS11 club back to the top of the Championship ahead of Burnley.

In what was an ideal afternoon for Leeds, their fans were picked out by journalist Beren Cross for their reactions throughout the win.

Leeds United fans love Karl Darlow

For everything good about Daniel Farke's side this campaign, there has been one consistent worry at the back, which has left supporters on edge.

Illan Meslier has always had a howler in him, but it didn't appear that the German head coach was willing to drop him regardless.

His mistakes against Swansea City cost his side three points and hampered any progress in the race for promotion, which prompted a change in between the sticks.

Darlow has come in for the last three games and has been superb in each one of them, including the win against Preston at Elland Road.

There was one factor which fans were loving in particular as Cross took note on X (12 April) of the reaction to his catches.

He said: "Honestly, these Darlow claims off corners are being celebrated like goals in the stands."

There has been so much frustration surrounding the French number one keeper over the years, but often, his quality managed to shine through.

Unfortunately, errors this season have taken too much of a toll, as Meslier made high-profile errors against the likes of Sunderland and Swansea.

That has given Darlow the perfect chance to prove himself, and it is fair to say the Wales international has taken that opportunity with both hands.

Despite not keeping a clean sheet against Preston, the 34-year-old still put in an excellent shift, as shown by the reaction of the home supporters.

His ability to claim the ball and calm the whole game down is huge and certainly made a difference, as three points were collected at Elland Road.
