Journalist James Marshment has questioned Leeds United manager Daniel Farke for his decision to go all-out attack late on when chasing games.

Leeds were held 1-1 by Coventry City in Saturday's (16 December) Championship match as their seven-game winning home run came to an end.

Farke brought on Patrick Bamford, Wilfried Gnonto and Joe Gelhardt as United chased a winner, but they were unable to find one.

Taking to Twitter at full-time [16 December], TEAMtalk editor Marshment posted: "Easy for me to say in hindsight when we're not winning, but I’m not entirely convinced at the Hail Mary attacking approach from Farke.

"Seems to create confusion and congestion - and not in a good way."

Loss of form

Farke has not come in for much criticism over the past few months, but the German has now hit a rare patch of disappointing form.

This home draw with Coventry came on the back of a 1-0 loss to Sunderland in midweek, meaning the automatic promotion hopes are fast fading.

Farke has a number of quality attacking options to choose from, so it only makes sense he will work his way through them one by one in search of an equaliser.

However, sometimes it can make more sense to take a different approach, such as taking off an existing attacker and bringing on a central midfielder to provide some more control in that area.

Either way, Farke is the man paid to make these decisions and he will ultimately live and die by them.

For now, the German has more than enough money in the bank to do things his way.
