Leeds make numerous approaches for Matthew Anderson - report
Leeds United have made numerous approaches for Celtic left-back Matthew Anderson this summer, according to Graham Smyth.
The reliable journalist has shared the major update, following it with the news that they had all been rejected.
Niall Huggins looks set for an exit, and Liam McCarron is currently playing that role in the under-23s despite being a winger.
Writing for the Yorkshire Evening Post on Wednesday, Smyth shared an update on our hunt for another left-back.
"The Whites made a number of attempts to sign Matthew Anderson from Celtic this summer, but saw bids for the teenage left-back rejected," he wrote.
"They are still working on a deal to take left-sided centre-half Leo Hjelde from Celtic Park."
Get it done.
With Leo Hjelde set to complete his move to Elland Road imminently, Anderson following suit would be perfect business.
Mark Jackson needs a couple of defenders for his under-23s side, and both would be given that opportunity to jump into the first-team.
It looks much harder to get this deal over the line though, and Victor Orta may have to do something special in the next couple of weeks.
Should Hjelde complete the move, it may persuade Anderson to make the same jump and move south to Elland Road.
This is certainly one to watch with less than two weeks to go in this current window, another left-back is wanted by the Whites.
