Leeds first-team star set to miss QPR clash after scan results come back - report

Leeds United ever-present Stuart Dallas is set to miss the Championship game against QPR on Saturday, after an injury he picked up in the defeat against Sheffield Wednesday.

Dallas was seen to be struggling late on in the game but Marcelo Bielsa had used all three subs and he stayed on the pitch.

After the game, Athletic journalist Phil Hay said it looked like a bad injury but while he's not expected to be available on Saturday, the good news is that it doesn't look like he's going to be out for long.

Talking in a Q&A on the Athletic on Tuesday, Hay said, "Dallas had scans on Monday. Seemingly the damage wasn't as bad as everyone thought it might be. It's his calf and I don't know when he'll be back but shouldn't be too long.

"Someone told me that the scans on Dallas' calf ruled out any serious injury... which is a bonus because he looked in a bad way on Saturday."

Dallas will be a loss on Saturday – he's played every single Championship game so far this season – but it could lead to a return to the starting XI for Pablo Hernandez, who came on as a sub in the 66th minute against Sheffield Wednesday.

He missed the three previous games through injury and Leeds have missed his creativity in the middle.

Leeds need to get back to winning ways on Saturday after not winning in six games.

That's let Brentford back into the mix for the top two after they thumped QPR 3-1 last weekend.

They've closed the gap to Leeds in second to six points, and they're the form team in the top three at the moment, with 10 points from the last 15.

Leeds have taken five points while West Brom have taken just four.

The game against QPR is live on Sky Sports and it kicks off at 12.30pm on Saturday.
