Jesse Marsch's reign at Leeds United was memorable, to say the least.

The head coach led the Whites to Premier League safety on the final day of the 2021-22 season.

However, he came under huge pressure in the following campaign, and it wasn't long before his time was up in LS11.

Marsh had some memorable moments as Leeds manager, but it's clear that they are in a much better position under Daniel Farke now.

Jesse Marsch was sacked on 6 February after loss to Nottingham Forest

Marsch currently manages the Canada national team, and he is preparing to lead the host nation to a successful 2026 World Cup campaign.

Marsch was sacked by Leeds on 6 February, 2023 after a run of seven Premier League games without a win.

The final straw came in a 1-0 defeat to Forest at the City Ground the day before, where the only goal was scored by Brennan Johnson.

He was dismissed as the side sat 17th in the league, and were only out of the relegation zone on goal difference.

Exactly three years on, Farke is the man in charge of a huge match against Forest, and the progress the Whites have made this season shows why it was the right decision.

That coincidence will not be lost on Leeds fans, given the opponents and the date of this latest showdown with Forest.

Leeds are expected to beat Forest, and three points would be a huge boost for their survival hopes.

Daniel Farke hasn't made the same mistakes as Marsch

It wasn't too long ago that Farke was under real pressure, and calls were aimed at him to be sacked.

Comparisons between Farke and Marsch were made, and there looked to be no way back for the German head coach.

However, the Whites have only lost twice since the start of December, and fans are firmly behind their manager at this moment in time.

Farke's record at Leeds

Although it took Leeds two attempts to gain promotion to the top flight, Farke has finally made them into a physical team that is competitive in the Premier League.

His change to a 3-5-2 tactic has worked wonders, and that was one of the biggest problems with Marsch.

He failed to adapt accordingly to each match, and his lack of accountability eventually led to supporters turning against him.

As Farke has proven, he won't be falling into that trap.
