Karen Carney has torn into the Leeds United players after their unnecessary red cards over the last few weeks.

Dan James picked up a red card against Chelsea at Elland Road, which she deemed a 'reckless' choice, given the relegation battle and the situation of the game.

With Luke Ayling missing the rest of the games as well, she believes that the Whites are only digging a hole for themselves.

Leeds United

Speaking on the Kelly and Wrighty Show, Carney said, "It was a stupid challenge [James v Chelsea]. They've been very reckless. You need players and creativity and they're all unavailable now. They've only made matters tougher for themselves and likely to get relegated."

Makes sense

This is one of the rare instances where we agree hundred per cent with Carney as she's hit the nail on the head.

Leeds have been making terrible decisions over the last few weeks and it cannot solely be down to the players.

Jesse Marsch surely must be instructing the players what to do and they're just not able to grasp those things.

It could be a communication issue as the American is not even close to being as nuanced as Marcelo Bielsa who broke things down to the very basics.

This saw the players play with an added layer of confidence as they knew what was expected from them.

Hopefully, things change soon, but nothing we've seen suggests that it's likely to happen and the Whites may have to brace themselves for another season in the Championship.
