Junior Firpo delights in unseen Leeds United moment v Swansea City

Leeds United slipped to second in the Championship table after drawing 2-2 with Swansea City on Saturday.

The Whites got off to an ideal start, taking the lead through Brenden Aaronson in the first minute of the game and Willy Gnonto's 86th-minute strike to make it 2-1 looked like it would seal the game.

However, a 96th-minute equaliser from the opposition means Farke's side dropped points on a disappointing afternoon which now puts them two points away from the top of the table.

Junior Firpo caught in unseen moment

Junior Firpo was brought on by Daniel Farke in the 72nd minute of the game as his side were looking for a way to get back on top.

It was not Firpo who had the desired effect from the bench though and he had just 13 touches of the ball as Leeds searched for their way to take the lead once more.

Firpo also lost the majority of his duels and failed to contribute to his side's defensive efforts which gave Swansea their opportunity to equalise late on.

In fact, the left-back caught the eye more for what he was doing as a substitute, rather than when he was on the field of play as part of the team.

Graham Smyth shared an unseen moment in the Yorkshire Evening Post (30 March) as he noted: "Junior Firpo nutmegging Isaac Schmidt, to the delight of the substitutes during their warm-up rondo."

Farke letting standards slip at Leeds

For the majority of the season, Leeds were known for their ability to pull late goals out and nowhere and get themselves back into a game.

However, it looks like that magic is gone and although they scored late against Swansea, it was their opponents who got the magic moment late on to secure coming away with a point.

With the Whites now two points away from Sheffield United, their fate as it stands relies on what their Yorkshire rivals do.

All Leeds can do for now is try to pick their standards back up and gain points while hoping the Blades drop some along the way.

There is plenty of football to be played but there are worries that Leeds are imploding at the wrong time, again.

Next up is a game against Luton Town which Farke's men should definitely be winning as a side that have their sights set on promotion to the Premier League.
