Leeds United under-23s have enjoyed a real transformation in recent years, with money being consistently pumped into transfers.

That has seen the young Whites reach the highest level of academy football in the Premier League 2, and this evening they welcomed Brighton to Yorkshire.

With Joe Gelhardt likely saved for the first-team tomorrow, the likes of Amari Miller and Sam Greenwood needed to step up.

After arriving from Birmingham over the summer, Miller has been gradually improving and has started to find the back of the net consistently.

Joe Urquhart of the Yorkshire Evening Post was at the game this evening and was stunned on Twitter as the winger nearly fired home a wondergoal.

"Oh my word," he said.

"Miller has just smashed the post with a peach of an effort. Cuts inside from the right and curls a lovely dipped effort at goal - it hits the inside of the woodwork and somehow stays out."

One to watch.

It is easy to get carried away with the amount of talent currently sitting in the under-23s this season.

Andrea Radrizzani and Victor Orta have done a fantastic job since arriving at the club at making the academy one of their priorities and bringing in some fantastic talent every single year.

Miller was one of the latest crop of signings to arrive over the summer from Birmingham, and he is really starting to make his impact known.

This was the latest audacious effort to catch the eye, and given some of the goals we have seen from Gelhardt, if Miller starts pulling these off - he could be the next name we start to hear frequently.

We can't wait for the years to come with all these young stars coming through, long may that continue.
