Leeds United will hope to continue their solid Championship form as they prepare to face Burnley on Saturday (14 September).

The Whites entered the international break in dazzling form, taking seven points from their last three matches, which included three clean sheets and four goals., with the early pressure lifting.

With Leeds sitting comfortably in fourth place after four games, facing sixth-place Burnley, Daniel Farke has some interesting team decisions to make, and he may have just dropped a hint for his midfield selections.

Speaking in his pre-match press conference [12 September], Farke said: "I want to give a mention to Joe Rothwell. I don't think he has played one bad pass since I started working with him. I like his passing skills, I like what he did in pre-season.

"Due to the competition we have in the position, in Ethan Ampadu and Ilia Gruev, and now Ao Tanaka, we are really good right now."

With limited injuries at Elland Road following the international break, Farke will need to decide quickly if he is going to involve Rothwell against the Clarets.

Joe Rothwell to start in Leeds United v Burnley?

The 29-year-old has played just 51 minutes of football in his first four league appearances, having been given a proper run-out against Middlesbrough in the EFL Cup defeat [FotMob].

However, considering how dangerous of a team Burnley have shown to be under Scott Parker, Farke could look to bolster his midfield with a player who has plenty of Championship experience.

The manager is never one to change too much when it comes to his starting XI, but given the amount of action his players have been in during the international break, Rothwell could be relied upon.

Ampadu and Gruev have been the preferred midfield partnership for the past few months, but with a long Championship season ahead, Farke will have to make changes, whether he wants to or not.
