Jamie Carragher is expecting a close battle between Leeds United and Swansea at Elland Road on Saturday.

Leeds will look to return to winning ways when they lock horns with Swansea in the Championship at home on 29 March, having been held to a 2-2 draw by QPR at Loftus Road before the international break.

With Sheffield United level on points with them ahead of the final eight games of the season, Daniel Farke and Co cannot afford further slip-ups if they want to secure automatic promotion.

That is why they will look to take advantage of Swansea's poor run of form in away games, which has seen them remain winless in four consecutive matches on their travels.

Carragher predicts Leeds United will stay atop Championship

Looking ahead to the game on Saturday, Carragher predicted that Leeds United will keep their place at the top of the Championship table with a narrow 2-1 win.

However, the Sky Sports pundit added that the Elland Road outfit will continue to feel the heat from Burnley, who he expects to beat Bristol City 2-0 at home in their corresponding fixture.

Predicting for Sky Sports' Super 6, Carragher said: "I think Leeds will maintain their lead at the top of the Championship with a narrow win at home to Swansea, while Burnley will keep the heat on those at the top by beating play-off chasing Bristol City in comfortable fashion at Turf Moor. 2-1 [for Leeds]."

Leeds to continue Elland Road form v Swansea

While Swansea have struggled on their travels, it is worth noting that they have won two and drawn three of their last five games, conceding just three times in the process.

That is why Leeds United cannot afford to take the Welsh outfit lightly when they visit Elland Road on Saturday.

The Whites have had a terrific record at home this season, having remained unbeaten there in the Championship since their defeat against Burnley in September.

Although Carragher expects Leeds will have to fight for the three points, Sam Parkin has predicted a thumping 4-0 victory for the hosts.
