Jamie Carragher sympathised with Leeds United loanee Jack Harrison after a mistake for Everton against Aston Villa.

The Toffees were two goals to the good at Villa Park before the winger miscued a clearance to Ollie Watkins, who couldn't miss.

Carragher admitted that sometimes your luck is not in, as Harrison was left with his head in his hands.

Speaking live on Sky Sports Premier League [14 September, 18:52], Carragher could not believe what he was watching at Villa Park.

"I feel for Harrison, he's just stretching. Sometimes, your luck is just not in," he said. 18:52

Jack Harrison stinks at Everton away from Leeds United

The relationship between Harrison and Leeds is all but over, despite him still technically being owned by the Elland Road club.

From videos of his mother bad-mouthing the club to his comments over at Everton, it is best if this two-year loan is made permanent.

Based on this latest evidence too, it doesn't look as though Daniel Farke is missing much compared to his own options in Manor Solomon, Willy Gnonto and Largie Ramazani.

Graham Smyth suggested before this latest loan move that a great season could lead to a big-money sale, but that has far from happened in this opening month.

Harrison will be hoping to improve as the season goes on, as he was dragged off after this mistake at Aston Villa, with Sean Dyche clearly not happy.

As for Leeds, they are solely focused on getting back to the Premier League, and players better than what Harrison is producing are needed now.
