Leeds United fans were dreaming of a Whites Christmas, with strong speculation that Leeds was going to be put into Tier 2 in the latest government review.

That would have meant fans getting back into Elland Road for the home game against Burnley on December 27.

However, those hopes were dashed when the announcement came, with Leeds staying in Tier 3 – as relayed by Yorkshire Evening Post journalist Graham Smyth – and Elland Road's doors staying locked to supporters.

Fans were initially hoping to be back in November, after missing out on Leeds getting promoted at the end of last season.

Now? The hope will be that the vaccine rollout can speed up the proper return of fans before the end of the season.

But, at the moment, there's no real light at the end of the Elland Road tunnel and these fans are not happy...
