Former Fulham striker Paul Peschisolido has claimed that the Cottagers beating Derby County on Friday night will put huge pressure on Leeds United.

Peschisolido admitted that the Whites could start to crumble once again in the promotion race, as Marcelo Bielsa's men have shown that they could do already this season.

Three points for Scott Parker's men on Friday evening would put his side level on points with Leeds, who entertain Reading at Elland Road on Saturday.

Peschisolido believes that Fulham would have taken this position if it was offered to them at the beginning of the season as they could take advantage of the Whites.

"Well, I think if they do [beat Derby], which you’d like to think they will, that will put some huge pressure on Leeds," he told Love Sport Radio.

"I think they’ve got nine points out of a possible 30 of late if they look at the table on Saturday and see that their level on points with Fulham, you can see them crumbling because they have done it in the last few seasons."

Fulham got level on points with Leeds after the 2-0 defeat against Nottingham Forest and the 1-1 draw with Brentford, but anything can happen in the Championship.

The Londoners then lost 3-0 at home against bottom-side Barnsley last time out and lost all momentum, so Peschisolido's claim is a brave statement to make.

Looking at the remaining fixtures, Fulham don't have a so-called easy run-in - having to play five of the current top-six - which is considered the hardest last couple of months based on this index.

Leeds, on the other hand, only have Fulham to play and have the so-called easiest last couple of months. A win in that game, which is at Elland Road could make Peschisolido eat his words very quickly.
