Leeds United may have a clear advantage against Newcastle United on Monday.

Elland Road will host the Magpies on 14 September as both teams look to preserve their unbeaten starts in the Premier League.

Matthias Jaissle has been a breath of fresh air at the Tyneside club, but Daniel Farke has now proven his credentials in the English top flight.

The Elland Road faithful will surely come out in full voice to back their team against Newcastle.

Having finished 14th in the Premier League last season, the West Yorkshire outfit certainly have higher hopes for the current campaign.

With the Peacocks adding quality players to their ranks and the Magpies losing some key stars in the transfer window, Alan Shearer may be in for disappointment in LS11.

What result Alan Shearer has predicted for Leeds United vs Newcastle

Leeds fixture against Newcastle could be a fascinating watch to determine where the two teams stand currently.

Paraag Marathe and 49ers Enterprises decided to splash the cash on a new goalkeeper, centre-back and some exciting attacking additions in the summer.

The Whites still have plenty to improve on after the 6-3 loss to Chelsea, but they've shown plenty of promise early in the season.

Shearer has predicted an away win for Newcastle despite acknowledging the ferocity of the atmosphere at Elland Road and that same aspect could potentially prove him wrong.

The West Yorkshire outfit's home record last season was a big factor in avoiding relegation and fans in LS11 can certainly give their team an edge.

Speaking in the Metro on 11 September, Shearer said, "It's always a ferocious atmosphere at Elland Road.

"It's only down the road really, an hour and a half down the road from Newcastle, so there’ll be thousands of fans travelling down there. Elland Road’s a great atmosphere. I’m going to go for a Newcastle away win and I hope the boys can keep this good run going."

What Daniel Farke's record vs Newcastle looks like

Leeds couldn't beat Newcastle in their two Premier League meetings last season.

The Whites drew at home as Eddie Howe's team travelled to Elland Road and were involved in an enthralling 4-3 game at St James' Park that ended in the Magpies' favour.

Farke's overall record against the Tyneside club isn't the best: one win, one loss and two draws in four matches.

The West Yorkshire outfit haven't beaten Newcastle since 26 January 2021 and the German manager will hope to rectify that.
