Georginio Rutter was once one near the bottom of the pecking order at Leeds United, but that is far from the case now.

The young attacker is enjoying life at Elland Road after a tricky start in England following his club-record switch from Hoffenheim in January.

It was always going to take him time to settle into West Yorkshire, but unfortunately time was against him as the Whites were relegated to the Championship shortly after his arrival.

Given his huge price tag, Rutter’s struggles in the final third were well documented, with the youngster taking a lot of the blame despite continuous poor displays from the majority of his teammates.

But he has put those bad memories behind him with a bright start to the new Championship campaign, with his latest top display coming in his club’s 1-0 win against QPR on Wednesday (4 October).

Crysencio Summerville may have scored the only goal of the game, but that goal would not have been possible without Rutter, who clinched the assist with an expert through ball to his Whites teammate.

Along with the assist, the 21-year-old made four key passes at Elland Road, finishing his outing with a passing accuracy of 86.4%, as per Sky Sports (4 October).

The attacker was replaced by Charlie Cresswell in stoppage time, with the Leeds faithful showing their appreciation for another strong showing for a player that they once had serious questions about.

He has stepped up to the plate this season, with Daniel Farke eager for the forward to continue this rich vein of form as the campaign progresses, with the fixtures now coming thick and fast.
