Gary Neville says if 'brilliant' Jayden Bogle deserves England shot after what he saw in Leeds vs Man United
Gary Neville was impressed by Jayden Bogle's performance for Leeds United against Manchester United on Sunday.
The Whites drew 1-1 with Man United at Elland Road, in another positive Premier League performance.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin's finish in the second half cancelled out Bryan Mbeumo's opening goal in the first 45, as both sides had chances to win the game late on.
Bogle was a big positive for Daniel Farke throughout the game, flying up and down the right flank.
The 26-year-old has started in all seven of the Whites' Premier League games now, and has made himself undroppable.
Leeds fans were claiming that Bogle should have been called up for England before the international break, and Neville may agree with them.
Gary Neville backs Jayden Bogle for England call-up
Bogle has never been called up to an England squad, but with Thomas Tuchel at the helm, the wing-back may have hope.
Calvert-Lewin and James Trafford have both been given the nod by the German head coach on several occasions already, and the duo may have referred their LS11 teammate to the boss.
The Three Lions have the likes of Reece James, Djed Spence, Trent Alexander-Arnold and others to choose from.
However, if Tuchel wants to play with wing-backs, Neville would suggest that Bogle would be a good option.
While speaking live on Sky Sports during Leeds' game against Man United, Neville said: "They've [England] been quite blessed in that position in the past few years.
"Certainly, if you're wanting an attacking option, the crosses he's put into the box there. If they wanted the option to go to wing-backs, he'd be right up there.
"He's been the biggest threat; his crosses and going forward, he's been strong for Leeds."
Neville described Bogle's delivery as "brilliant", praising the Englishman's energy alongside Gabriel Gudmundsson, claiming both are key for Farke's system.
Micah Richards also praised Bogle's crosses against Manchester United, but gave praise to Michael Carrick's defence for standing strong.
What Neville answered after 'jealous' Bogle question
Bogle is under contract at Elland Road until 2030, and could stay with the Whites for many more years.
There was no real interest in the former Sheffield United star in the summer, but it would be no surprise if club's came knocking in the winter window.
However, the 49ers have no need to sell.
Seb Hutchinson asked Neville if he is "jealous" of Bogle for how much attacking freedom he has as a right-back.
The former England full-back said: "I was happy doing what I was doing. The game wasn't where it is [now]; the mentality of the current right-back is completely different."
Bogle's mentality is simple: run and don't stop running.
He's the perfect player for Farke in his wing-back role, and it would have been interesting to see how well he would have played under Marcelo Bielsa.
