Gabby Agbonlahor predicts Dominic Calvert-Lewin twist in Arsenal vs Leeds scoreline
Gabby Agbonlahor believes Dominic Calvert-Lewin will score the opener as Leeds United face Arsenal on Saturday.
The Whites will travel to the Emirates Stadium on 10 October, with Daniel Farke looking to continue their unbeaten Premier League run.
Mikel Arteta's team showed signs of frailty in their 3-0 loss to Brighton and Hove Albion just before the international break.
Calvert-Lewin has been in fine form for the Elland Road side and it wouldn't be surprising to see him get on the scoresheet against Arsenal.
The England international was part of Thomas Tuchel's squad during the recent UEFA Nations League fixtures, but hardly played.
Farke will surely expect the striker to be fresh and ready for a tough test in North London.
Arsenal to find a way vs Leeds United
Arsenal are the clear favourites against Leeds, but it's expected to be a challenging game for the hosts.
Agbonlahor doesn't expect the Whites to lie down and give the three points to Arteta's team.
While the former Aston Villa ace has predicted an Arsenal win, Calvert-Lewin may provide the visitors with a strong start by scoring the first goal at the Emirates.
The West Yorkshire outfit lost 4-1 and 5-0 to the Gunners in the Premier League last season, but that isn't anticipated this time around.
Speaking on talkSPORT on 8 October, Agbonlahor said, "I see a cagey game where Arsenal struggle, but they find a way to win. I'm going to go 2-1 to Arsenal, but Leeds get the first goal — Calvert-Lewin."
Daniel Farke eyeing six-year first vs Arsenal
Leeds have historically struggled against Arsenal over the last few decades, last winning against them 23 years ago.
The Gunners have dominated the Whites in every competition since the turn of the century.
Arteta has now beaten the West Yorkshire outfit eight times in a row and the last time they dropped any points was in November 2020 at Elland Road in the Premier League.
Even if Farke can get a point off Arsenal, that will certainly be a massive achievement, given the Peacocks' struggles against them.
Calvert-Lewin could certainly have a say in the game, but Leeds' defence will need to be on point to contain Arsenal's deadly attackers.
