Frank Lampard has yet to face Leeds United since taking over as Coventry City manager earlier this season.

The clash between the two sides as Elland Road earlier in the campaign, with Daniel Farke going up against Mark Robins, saw the Whites claim a comfortable 3-0 win in September.

Goals from Wilfried Gnonto, Jayden Bogle and Joel Piroe meant all three points stayed in Yorkshire while the Sky Blues drifted further down the Championship table.

While Leeds still have four fixtures between now and when the sides meet again at the Coventry Building Society Arena, Lampard can sleep easier after Farke's side progressed to the next round of the FA Cup.

Facing Harrogate Town in the third round on Saturday 11 January, a single Largie Ramazani goal proved to be the difference, a slightly awkward result against League Two opposition.

Coventry City v Leeds United postponement update shared after FA Cup win

While there was much left to be desired from the 1-0 win at Elland Road, the Whites are still through to the next round of the competition, meaning a league game must be moved.

Beren Cross confirmed via X [11 January]: "The fourth round will be played across the weekend of February 8. This means the trip to Frank Lampard's Coventry will be postponed."

Lampard will certainly be breathing a sigh of relief, knowing that he can put off the visit of Leeds until further notice, with the hope of his team creeping up the Championship table.

Leeds versus Coventry is always a tricky fixture to predict, but with the former aiming to keep their spot at the top of the table and the Sky Blues dodging relegation, the former Chelsea star will not want to find out the reality.

Of course, many will feel that the postponement is just putting off the inevitable for Lampard's men, but if they can find any sort of form before facing Leeds, they will feel they have a chance of taking points.
