Feyenoord are in direct talks with Leeds United about re-signing Luis Sinisterra this summer, according to a report by 1908.

Writing on their official website (14 August), the Dutch news outlet report that talks have been taking place since last week over the Colombian returning to the Eredivisie.

Feyenoord want a loan deal for Sinisterra and talks are on for the player who was "unavailable" for the Whites in the 1-0 defeat to Birmingham at the weekend.

Leeds United

"Feyenoord is busy persuading Luis Sinisterra for a new Rotterdam residence. The club is in direct contact with Leeds United about a transfer," they wrote.

"The renewed interest came about last weekend. Sinisterra was missing from Leeds United's selection for the away game at Birmingham City. According to the official reading, the player is 'injured'.

"When Sinisterra eventually appears to be able to be brought back for Feyenoord, the club drops interest in Oussama Idrissi for the time being. A rental period from the 24-year-old Colombian is the plan that the Rotterdammers have in mind."

Hold up

It was obvious by Daniel Farke's response to Sinisterra's absence that he wasn't happy about the situation, and that it wasn't just simply an injury.

Feyenoord wanting a loan move would mean the final international loan spot would be taken up, following the temporary exits of Diego Llorente, Rasmus Kristensen, Brenden Aaronson, Robin Koch, Marc Roca and Max Wober.

Leeds United

Clubs are only allowed seven international loan moves per season, and we would now hit that quota for the season meaning anyone else who leaves the club will have to be on a permanent deal.

Sinisterra is far too good to be playing in the Championship but he had seemingly committed to the cause for another season and had earned plenty of favour with fans because of it.

Unfortunately, that was all a bluff seemingly and he could be the next one out of the door, meaning our numbers drop even more and our squad gets even weaker with just two weeks remaining of the window.
