There is said to be a treasure trove of Leeds United memorabilia from the club's history locked away in various rooms at Elland Road, according to the Daily Mail.

The UK outlet, shared in its newspaper edition (4 January, page 68) that these rooms are set to be opened to the public at Elland Road as the club's owners 49ers Enterprises take inspiration to build a museum at the ground.

It is reported that "early noises" from within the club are that such a facility may well feature in the updated West Stand plans at Elland Road.

Exciting times

It certainly seems as if the 49ers have plans to mould and build Leeds United and Elland Road into one of England's superpowers not just on the pitch but off it too and these new museum plans are certainly one way to fulfil those ambitions.

Much has been made in recent years over how much improvement and modernisation the Leeds United stadium needs if they are to match it with the best in the land and this latest development goes to show that the 49ers have the Stadium re-development high on their agenda.

It could do so much for the community in West Yorkshire, making the stadium a really exciting attraction and giving fans the experience of a lifetime when they make the visit to Elland Road and there's no better way to do that than build a museum.

If some hidden treasures within the club need to be made known to the public then why not use that as a starting point to reel fans in boost also boost the club's income and finances behind the scenes?

These plans will certainly require a whole lot of money and investment from the American-based owners but those plans can be boosted by a return to the Premier League in the near future which is certainly everyone's priority right now at Leeds United. Until that is sealed, such hopes for an Elland Road museum are just plans for now.
