Eintracht Frankfurt sporting director Timmo Hardung admits the club have yet to make a decision on whether to sign Leeds United loanee Rasmus Kristensen on a full transfer.

Florian Plettenberg reported (7 October) that Frankfurt had already decided to activate their buy option for the full-back, who is on a season-long deal from Elland Road.

However, Hardung suggested that a decision over a full-time transfer has not yet been taken by the Bundesliga club.

"Of course we are considering what role he could play at Eintracht Frankfurt in the future and whether he can become part of the team but we haven't decided anything yet," he said to Fussball News (9 October).

"Rasmus has settled in very well with us. We are very happy that he is here with us. I also think that he really enjoys being here".

Rasmus Kristensen needs to leave Leeds United permanently

Since their relegation to the Championship at the end of the 2022/23 season, Kristensen is one of many Leeds players who showed their true colours.

There was a mass exodus of players from the West Yorkshire outfit before the start of the 2023/24 season with players leaving both permanently and on loan.

His last spell away from Leeds at Roma didn't end how either party wanted with the Denmark international being unable to complete a full deal.

While players such as Max Wober and Brenden Aaronson have returned this season to try and get the Whites back to where they belong, Kristensen managed to find another exit route - albeit once again another temporary one for the time being.

This time, however, things seem a little different. Although Hardung has denied reports of a permanent transfer already being decided, the glowing report he gave the full-back suggests that is something the German side definitely want to do.

It would be quite a surprise to not see Kristensen's buy option activated by Frankfurt and, in truth, there will be absolutely zero tears shed from the Elland Road faithful.
