Leeds United defender Diego Llorente is in good spirits at Thorp Arch this week despite his latest injury blow.

Patrick Bamford shared the update after catching up with the Spaniard at the training ground after he limped off against Liverpool.

Marcelo Bielsa confirmed it was a muscular problem, and the injury was said to have been assessed on Monday.

Speaking on the official Leeds podcast on Thursday, Bamford shared the latest on his teammate after the blow.

"I think after the game he was a bit emotional because he was probably panicking it was something similar to last season," he said.

"But I saw him this morning and he seemed in good spirits, and he was smiling, seems good so I think he's alright."

Good news?

Hopefully, this means that the initial assessment of the injury has revealed some good news for Llorente.

Given that he was panicking over a similar problem from last season, it appears as though that has been taken off the table.

Phil Hay shared this morning that the Spaniard may only be out for two-to-three weeks, and that would likely be the best news possible.

Robin Koch appears to still be out, Pascal Struijk is suspended, so it looks as though there is yet another defensive crisis facing Bielsa and the Whites.

We should get a further update in the press conference this afternoon, and fingers crossed it won't be too bad, for both Llorente and us.
