David Prutton has predicted that Leeds United will head into the October international break with back-to-back Championship wins when they face Bristol City on Saturday 7 October.

The Sky Sports presenter believes that Daniel Farke's side will carry too much of a threat, especially in front of the home crowd at Elland Road and will narrowly come out on top against Nigel Pearson's Robins, predicting the Whites will win 2-1.

Leeds are yet to lose at home so far this season, having won two and drawn the other three of their games at Elland Road so far, while Bristol City have impressed on their travels winning three games away from home, but Prutton believes this may be a trip too far for the Reds.

Writing in his Sky Sports Championship predictions (5 October) he said: "Leeds dug out a narrow win over QPR in midweek to recover from the shock at Southampton. They need to string some wins together, though, because they are losing ground on the top two.

"Bristol City took a big win in midweek, late on at Rotherham, which should ease some of the frustration after that result against Stoke at the weekend. But this is a tough trip and I can’t see it bearing any fruit for the Robins."

Tough test

It was always going to be important for Leeds United to bounce back quickly following their 3-1 defeat to Southampton at St Mary's and Farke's side did exactly that against QPR on Wednesday (4 October) in what was a professional win.

It may not have had the attacking flair that the Whites have managed in their wins over Watford and Millwall earlier this season, but it showed that Leeds are more than capable of winning games in an ugly fashion, an ability they will need if they want to return to the Premier League.

As Prutton said, the Whites need to keep up with the early pace set by Leicester City and Ipswich Town in the opening stages of the season to keep the dream of automatic promotion alive as there is already a nine-point gap between Leeds and the Tractor Boys in second.

Bristol City will represent a tough test and Pearson's side have been ruthless going forward at times this season, but with Zak Vyner sidelined with injury, Farke's side should have enough attacking talent to cause the Robins some problems in defence.
