Sky Sports pundit David Prutton has credited Andrea Radrizzani for his brilliant work as owner of Leeds United.

The Italian bought the club in 2017 and since then has brought about a sea of change at Elland Road.

Selling the project to Marcelo Bielsa was the main piece of the jigsaw which Radrizzani saw to and ensured that the Argentine stuck on for three seasons, with there being a very high possibility of him continuing for at least another year.

Despite suffering heavy financial losses due to the pandemic - just over £64m despite promotion and increase in turnover - the Italian ensured that the club spared no cost in order to ensure that the Whites go through their first league season unscathed.

Discussing his impact at Elland Road, Prutton wrote, in his Yorkshire Evening Post column, "We saw with my end of the equation as a player in League One, the mucky part of the Leeds United, a club that was on its knees and badly needed someone.

"But the club managed to progress back into the Championship and then Massimo Cellino came in and then Andrea and now look where they are now. Andrea has got a lot to be lauded for in the way the club is now run.

"If you look at where Leeds are possibly going to finish and you look at that as a first season back after 16 years, then it’s been a phenomenal success."

Leeds United

We're on a journey to the top

These last four years have been an incredible journey under Radrizzani and hopefully, we're only getting started.

The first step in the project was getting to the Premier League and the second to ensure that we stay in the top flight and become a mainstay.

If this season is any indicator, we appear on track to achieving our goal. However, it's important that we don't take our feet off the pedal.

The reason why we're in this position is because of the work put in by everyone behind the scenes, both on and off the training ground.

This collective effort has seen us earn the reputation of one of the better-run clubs in the country and after so many years of pain, it's good to be enjoying life in the Premier League again.

Long may this continue.
