David James has been awestruck by the performances of Leeds United goalkeeper Illan Meslier in the Premier League this season.

The Frenchman has been highly criticised at times during this campaign, but James believes that his attitude to keep attempting things is "quality."

The Sky Sports pundit claimed that he was in love with Meslier, and Luke Ayling agreed, claiming that he is only going to get better.

Speaking on the Goalmouth Podcast, James claimed that he loved watching the Whites defenders celebrate with the keeper.

"Meslier - I love him," he said.

"I went on social media, I was watching a game and he went for about 10 crosses (v Burnley), he carried on coming for crosses.

"The commentators were battering him. I was thinking 'the guy is still coming', and as soon as the whistle went, the camera was panning but you could see all the defenders going up to him.

"That is quality."

Meslier has been quality, and this is down to the responsibility handed to him by Marcelo Bielsa in the past year at Elland Road.

Kiko Casilla was easily the first-choice keeper in West Yorkshire, but after his racism charge, Meslier played the final eight Championship games and was then thrown into the deep end of the Premier League.

Only Nick Pope and Sam Johnstone have made more saves per game than the youngster according to WyScout this season, not bad company to have.

The Whites only spent £5million on Meslier, and we strongly believe he could worth almost 10-times that amount in a couple of years.
