Daniel Farke's record vs Newcastle assessed - and the player Leeds will be sick of

Daniel Farke will be aiming to help Leeds United get three points against Newcastle United on Monday.

The Whites host Matthias Jaissle's side at Elland Road in the final Premier League fixture of game week four.

Both sides sit on five points and are unbeaten after their first three games of the league season, each with one win and two draws.

Leeds had a different Carabao Cup fate in last week's midweek clash against Chelsea, losing 6-3 after being 2-0 up in the second half.

Newcastle squeezed past Millwall with a 1-0 win at The Den, but Farke will be hoping his side responds with a good performance against the Magpies.

The Leeds boss has also met Newcastle in the past during his time with Norwich City, and his record makes for interesting reading.

Leeds were unable to get one over Newcastle last season, but that was when Eddie Howe was in charge.

The last time the Whites met the Magpies in the Premier League, they lost 4-3 after a controversial stoppage-time Bruno Guimaraes penalty.

The reverse fixture saw the sides share the points in a 0-0 draw at Elland Road, which means Farke is winless against Newcastle as Leeds boss.

However, he never lost a game against the Geordies when in charge of Norwich.

The Canaries beat Newcastle 3-1 at Carrow Road under Farke, with all three goals coming from cult hero Teemu Pukki.

The return game at St. James' Park saw Norwich leave with a point in a 0-0 draw.

This means that Farke has won once, drawn twice, and lost one time against Newcastle in all competitive meetings against them.

While Leeds could do with all three points, perhaps a draw wouldn't be the worst result either.

Going off Farke's record, he's only ever not taken at least a point against the Magpies on one occasion, so Leeds may be okay in this one, especially considering it's at Elland Road, too.

Leeds may have to face a different type of hoodoo when they come up against Newcastle.

Harvey Barnes is someone who continually haunts the Whites, and even has a career-best against the LS11 outfit.

The left-winger has scored eight goals in his last nine appearances against the Peacocks - his most against any team in his league career.

Of the eight he's netted, seven have come in the Premier League, a record which is only bettered by legends of the game.

Alan Shearer leads the way with 20 against the Whites, followed by Thierry Henry with 10, while both Teddy Sheringham and Mohamed Salah have scored nine.

Farke must find a way to contain Barnes, who is primed to get on the scoresheet.
