Daniel Farke will be given a fair crack of the whip by the Leeds United board as he aims to establish Leeds as a force in the Premier League.

The German manager's reputation has suffered due to his failure to keep Norwich in the Premier League.

He led the Canaries down twice with such a whimper that Leeds fans were calling for Farke to be sacked shortly after he won the Championship.

However, the 49ers group looks set to show patience with their manager.

Leeds United board likely to show patience with Farke

The 49ers group have given Farke plenty of funds to build a team that can thrive in the Premier League this season, and the German has spent well.

  • Lucas Perri will replace Illan Meslier in goal
  • Jaka Bijol and Sebastiaan Bornauw will slot into the defence
  • Sean Longstaff and Anton Stach will marshal the midfield
  • Lukas Nmecha will be trusted to fire in the goals

That's a huge transformation to the spine of the team that won the Championship, and Leeds have been linked with even more signings before the transfer window closes.

Alex Oxlaide-Chamberlain and Bilal El Khannouss are among the midfielders rumoured to be joining Farke at Elland Road.

It would be foolish to quickly dismiss the manager who recruited these players and has been building a game plan with them all summer.

Farke among favourites to be sacked, but he'll be confident of leading Leeds to safety

Despite this significant backing from the Leeds board, Farke is among the favourites to be the first Premier League manager sacked this season.

You can get odds as low as 5-1 for Farke to win the sack race, according to Oddschecker, but the German will be confident he can lead Leeds to safety this season.

ManagerBest odds of winning the sack race
Keith Andrews - Brentford5-1
Daniel Farke - Leeds11-2
Scott Parker - Burnley6-1
Nuno Espirito Santo - Nottingham Forest10-1
Graham Potter - West Ham12-1

Leeds finished ahead of Burnley and Sunderland last season, and have spent much better in the transfer market so far.

Meanwhile, the likes of Brentford and Wolves have lost a lot of their best players and could be in danger of falling into relegation trouble.

Farke will fancy his chances of finishing ahead of at least three of these teams.

Leeds take on Everton in their first Premier League game on 18 August. What Farke would give for an early win to get the nay-sayers off his back.
