Mateo Joseph has to be started more often by Daniel Farke following his blistering form for Spain that he can carry over to Leeds United.

As shared by the Yorkshire Evening Post's Joe Donnohue on X [19 November], Joseph netted his sixth goal in his last seven appearances for the Spanish Under-21 side against Denmark in Albacete on Tuesday.

With Farke preferring a lone striker in his current shape, Joel Piroe has excelled now he has been offered more game time, with last week's win over QPR [9 November] Joseph's first start since 1 October against Norwich City.

The Whites boss has to find a successful formula of affording both in the side with the capacity they have at Championship level to severely hurt opponents.

Mateo Joseph can carry Spain form over to Leeds United

Operating as Spain U21s' primary striker to mixed effect this week, Joseph's confidence is still so evident in the way he plays for his nation, with his goal to double their lead over the Danes a neat turn and finish.

The youngster has made 15 league appearances for Leeds so far this season but just nine have been starts, as Piroe takes his place.

But a player with the ceiling of Joseph should not be wasting away on the bench in the Championship - primarily for the club's immediate success but also the Spaniard's future resale value.

Piroe's frustration was plentifully talked about during the opening months of the campaign, and it seems the similar feeling undoubtedly on the mind of Joseph is being channelled through goals on the international scene.

Joseph has scored twice and claimed three assists in the league so far, while Piroe has six goals and two assists; both players are expected to be key as Leeds prepare for three games in six days to round off November.
