Daniel Farke will be distanced from Gretar Steinsson following the technical director's exit from Leeds United, according to Adam Pope.

Steinsson is set to switch his role at Elland Road for a different job with the 49ers Enterprises global operation, with no direct replacement ready to be implemented [Nancy Froston].

It is understood that his new role will involve him in industry trend research, technology and player involvement, and Pope believes this will create a divide between him and the club.

Speaking via the Don't Go To Bed Just Yet podcast [11 November], Pope said: "It's a difficult one, isn't it? It's been mentioned that it's a multi-club model but it's only Leeds United in that model at the moment.

"From what I understand, it's more of a 49ers role so there'll be distance between him and Leeds United, and even Farke, I would suggest in the role that he'll be performing."

Daniel Farke to be distanced from Gretar Steinsson after Leeds United update

With the 49ers feeling that Leeds already have enough experience in and around Elland Road to support the manager this season, fans should be at ease right now.

However, change can be scary, especially on such a grand scale, and those changes could have a drastic change on the club's future.

Of course, Farke's main focus right now will be on the near future, with the Whites aiming to secure promotion to the Premier League at the second time of asking, and they are in a great position to do so.

After 15 matches of the Championship campaign, Leeds are sitting third in the table with 29 points, just two points behind league leaders Sunderland and Sheffield United.

Elland Road Leeds United
Leeds United are planning on redeveloping Elland Road.

There has also been talk about the redevelopment of Elland Road, which could begin if Leeds are promoted, as well as all of these changes in the boardroom.

The 49ers clearly have a plan of action at Elland Road, and those decisions are now in full swing. Fans have every right to be worried but they will just have to trust everything is being done for the club.
