Daniel Farke has to consider Lucas Perri’s place in the starting XI, with the goalkeeper continuing to disappoint in the Premier League.

The former Lyon star was brought into Elland Road during the summer in the hope of finally ending the Peacocks’ goalkeeper troubles.

Since his arrival, Perri has played the majority of games in the Premier League as he quickly established himself as the number one.

However, despite keeping two clean sheets in his first three matches, the faith in the 28-year-old may be misplaced, with Perri putting in some awful performances for Leeds this season.

Lucas Perri has the worst save percentage in the Premier League

The goalkeeper has been prone to mistakes and has not kept a clean sheet since August.

During the match against Manchester City, Michael Dawson labelled Perri’s goalkeeping as “terrible” after he let the hosts go 2-0 up.

  • Perri was brought from Lyon in the summer
  • However, after a solid start, mistake have become consistent
  • As a result, the goalkeeper now has the worst save percentage in the division

Now, after conceding again in the Brentford draw, Opta on 15 December has confirmed that Perri has the lowest save percentage in the Premier League for goalkeepers who have played 400 minutes or more this season.

This currently stands at 54.2 per cent, with the keeper having a goals prevented record of -0.9.

Therefore, Farke simply has to consider Perri’s place in the side.

Could Karl Darlow be recalled to Leeds’ starting XI?

One solution for Farke could be to recall Darlow back into the starting XI.

The Welsh international has already played five Premier League matches this season and helped oversee the 3-1 win over Wolves.

Darlow also has a better save percentage than Perri, currently standing at 61.9 per cent.

However, recalling the goalkeeper would be a risk, with the 35-year-old also incapable of consistent displays.

Therefore, Farke may just have to wait until the January transfer window to finally solve this issue.
