Cooper comments on Leeds clash v Birmingham, claims Clotet has 'changed' style

With Leeds United travelling to Birmingham on Sunday, many will believe they know what to expect.

The Blues have often favoured a long-ball tactic to utilise the strengths of Lukas Jutkiewicz - something which has tormented Leeds many times this season against numerous sides.

It would be foolish to expect just that though, and the Whites have been preparing for a number of different styles that they could come against.

Liam Cooper has opened up on the style he expects Birmingham to have though, claiming that former Whites coach Pep Clotet could have made some changes at St Andrew's.

"It’s going to be another tough game, they’re a good side, they’re strong in this league. I’m excited to go there and hopefully get the levels of performance that we’re used to," he told Leeds Live.

"I think they’ve changed the way they play a little bit. They used to be a bit more direct in the past and now they’re trying to play a bit."

It would make total sense for the Spaniard to have done that, as we remember during his time at Elland Road with Garry Monk, we had the ability to play great football but also go long to a striker like Chris Wood.

One thing that is almost certain, is Marcelo Bielsa will most likely stick to his philosophy of style - something that created somewhat of a clash the last time the two teams met.

Kalvin Phillips got the winner, but Bielsa will certainly be hoping for a much more straight forward game in the Midlands after going three games without a single victory in the Championship.
