Dominic Calvert-Lewin is beginning to find his feet at Leeds United.

However, the forward came to life in Leeds' 3-1 victory at Wolverhampton Wanderers last Saturday, scoring a brilliant equaliser and causing a host of problems for the Wolves backline.

His performance has brought praise from both fans and the media, and Darren Bent has made a big claim on the former Sheffield United man.

Darren Bent believes Dominic Calvert-Lewin could be called up to England squad

Calvert-Lewin's performances have made Bent believe he could be on his way back to the England set-up.

The striker initially broke into the international set-up in 2020 after a brilliant start to the 2020/21 season at Everton under Carlo Ancelotti, before falling out of favour under Gareth Southgate.

Calvert-Lewin's international career looked dead and buried after he left Everton, as he wasn't getting consistent game time under David Moyes, as well as suffering a myriad of injuries.

However, with a lack of quality up front outside of Harry Kane, Bent has suggested that Thomas Tuchel should consider looking at the Leeds man before this summer's World Cup.

Talking on talkSPORT Drive on 26 September, Bent said: "He's not picking Ivan Toney. Solanke's been in and out with injuries. Liam Delap's got an injury.

"Calvert-Lewin recently got a goal for Leeds. He's one Tuchel may look at..."

Andy Goldstein replied: "It's frightening really, isn't it?"

Dominic Calvert-Lewin needs to keep this form up

Leeds have been heavily criticised for their lack of business done in the attacking areas over the summer, with Daniel Farke coming out and claiming he couldn't survive in the Premier League without reinforcements.

The Whites went on to sign both Calvert-Lewin and Noah Okafor, but it was still seen as not enough, and many fans began to believe that there was little hope of Farke's side scoring enough goals to survive.

However, the win at Wolves has seen fans begin to backtrack on their statements, given how impressive the performance was at both ends of the pitch.

Goalscoring still remains a problem, as it does with the other promoted side, but if Calvert-Lewin can continue this form over the course of the season, Leeds should be fine, given how poor some of the sides at the bottom of the Premier League are.
