Bryn Law couldn't be more wrong after latest Dominic Calvert-Lewin admission
Dominic Calvert-Lewin was outstanding in Leeds United's 3-1 away win against Wolves.
Calvert-Lewin netted his first Leeds goal with a superb header following a hopeful Jayden Bogle cross into the box.
Aside from his goal, Calvert-Lewin was also effective at winning duels, as he provided a much-needed presence and physicality to the forward line.
However, Bryn Law's recent comments regarding Calvert-Lewin will cause much debate among the Elland Road faithful.
Bryn Law completely wrong amid Calvert-Lewin 'big-club' claims
Law's comments on Calvert-Lewin will rile up any Leeds supporter who hears them.
The LUTV commentator claimed that Calvert-Lewin "shouldn't really be at Leeds" and should have ended up at a "big club or somebody big abroad" after leaving Everton over the summer.
Whilst Calvert-Lewin was exceptional over the weekend, these claims couldn't be further from the truth.
Leeds handed Calvert-Lewin a Premier League lifeline late on in the window as it became apparent he wasn't going to get the sort of move he desired in England.
The striker has scored ten or more Premier League goals twice in his career, but from the way he has been spoken about, you'd be forgiven for thinking he was a number nine who scored 20 goals year in, year out.
The common narrative around Calvert-Lewin is that if you can keep him fit, he will score, but the 28-year-old is coming off a season where he scored three times in 26 Premier League appearances, whilst dramatically underperforming his xG.

- He has consistently been wasteful in front of goal for Everton throughout this time
- If he was such an elite striker, Everton would have kept hold of him in the summer
Calvert-Lewin has not taken pity on Leeds to save them from relegation single-handedly; he has been handed a lifeline and one last opportunity to prove he can perform at a Premier League level.
Leeds need Calvert-Lewin to replicate performance against Wolves
If Calvert-Lewin can impress during his stint at Elland Road and Leeds go down, he will likely gain a move away on the back of that, but his goalscoring form from four years ago is simply not enough to live off to earn a move to a club higher up the table currently.
The forward undoubtedly possesses talent and has immense physical attributes, and if he can rekindle his form of old, he will be a massive player for Leeds this season.
There were signs of this against Wolves, but Leeds need that to be his baseline performance, not just a one-off.
But in the year 2025, off the back of his poor form and injury records spanning multiple seasons, to suggest Calvert-Lewin is too good to play for Leeds is ludicrous at this moment in time.
