Tony Dorigo has revealed that Leeds United ace Brenden Aaronson has "put on six or seven pounds of muscle".

Aaronson started and impressed as the Whites recorded a 4-1 victory over Hannover 96 in a pre-season friendly on Wednesday (24 July).

And Dorigo, who was commentating on LUTV during the match, has provided some inside information on Aaronson.

“He is a player that has got ability," Dorigo told LUTV (via Leeds United News, 25 July).

"Absolutely no doubt, great skill, great ability, he’s got a pass in him. His game unravelled with confidence. Things were more physical than he thought, he began to struggle.

“I hear he’s put on six or seven pounds of muscle since being in Germany. This year is the Championship. It’s a great opportunity, brave as well to put things right. He looks like he could really be a bonus for us.”

Brenden Aaronson set for a second opportunity at Leeds United?

Aaronson could end up being something of a surprise package at Elland Road this season.

Many supporters probably anticipated that they might not see the player again after his loan move to Union Berlin last season.

The 23-year-old did not enjoy a positive debut campaign at Elland Road and things hardly got much better after his move to Germany.

It is clear that the playmaker possesses ability, that was never in doubt. However, it was a lack of physicality which let the United States of America international down.

He just couldn't adapt to the physical demands of English football. However, with this increased muscle which he has put on, that could be set to change.

If Aaronson could hit the ground running next season, he could prove to be a very useful option for Daniel Farke.

After grabbing an assist against Hannover 96, the player - who could operate as a wide forward in place of Crysencio Summerville - will hope to continue making an impression during pre-season.
