Leeds United could welcome two news left-backs to Elland Road this summer, according to Beren Cross.

The Leeds Live journalist has reported that the Whites have made that position their "absolute priority" during this upcoming window.

Ezgjan Alioski has started in that role consistently in the Premier League, but could leave West Yorkshire once his current deal expires.

Writing for Leeds Live on Sunday, Cross insisted that it could be two, not one left-back this summer arriving at Elland Road.

"A starting left-back is an absolute priority for Orta and Bielsa," he wrote.

"It has to be. It is a critical role in most modern formations and one look at the output of Luke Ayling or Dallas down their respective flanks across the past 18 months would show the demands in United’s 4-1-4-1.

"Beyond a starter, Orta may even look for a back-up too, Orta has given himself a deadline of July 1 to complete his business. All eye are on when he nails down the left-back he dearly needs."

Priority.

Two new left-backs could be brilliant news for Marcelo Bielsa.

Stuart Dallas has moved into midfield to brilliant effect in the second half of the season, and we have to remember that Alioski isn't actually a left-back.

With the Macedonian still in contract talks and not signing the deal yet, we could be left with only Leif Davis as our most senior left-back.

That simply can't happen.

Imagine if Nicolas Tagliafico and Romain Perraud arrived over the summer, which could improve our squad dramatically and put us in a position to target Europe.
