BBC commentator Adam Pope has shared that Leeds United fans were taunting the Cardiff fans about losing their "Cup Final" as they smashed them 3-0 at the Cardiff City Stadium.

Leeds were rampant in South Wales, with Patrick Bamford, Daniel James and Georginio Rutter finding the back of the net and it could have been many more as James hit the bar and Crysencio Summerville missed a penalty.

The win would have been extra sweet for the former Swansea players Joe Rodon and James who were booed for the whole game, while the Leeds fans partied in the stands taunting their opponents.

Speaking live on BBC Radio Leeds [13 January, 16:57], Pope shared: "'Three nil in your Cup Final', the Leeds fans sing.

"And there are over 3000 of them here so it's pretty loud in here. That will do nicely, a battering of Cardiff in their own ground, should have been a lot more with the penalty, crossbar and one-on-ones missed."

Leeds fans can be relentless

It was a perfect day for Daniel Farke's side as they recorded a second 3-0 league win in a row, and despite some missed chances, they made it look easy. It was a dominant display in Cardiff, and one both the players and fans were able to enjoy.

Backed by a typically strong away following, those players gave their everything just as the fans did from the stands to drag them to all three points, not that they needed dragging given the level of confidence and ability on show in South Wales.

3000 Leeds fans singing in the away end cannot have made for a pleasant experience for the opposition, and that goes for the players and the fans too. They cycled through their list of songs to taunt their opponents and stayed long after the final whistle.

It was a brilliant day all around for the Yorkshire club who returned to league action with an emphatic victory and will look to push on from here for many more days like this one.
