Leeds United missed Kalvin Phillips.

They were brilliant on his return against Brentford and they were superb again at Elland Road this afternoon.

This time they got the three points the performance deserved but it was still not as convincing as it should have been.

However, the three points are huge, especially as all the teams around Leeds dropped points today.

Nottingham Forest drew with West Brom in the early kick-off but it was Fulham's result that was the big surprise as they went down 3-0 at home to struggling Barnsley, who are still rock bottom of the Championship.

It means the buffer to third is back and Leeds now have three points on Fulham and four on Brentford.

That will calm the nerves but the big change has come from Phillips.

He's been absolutely magnificent since his return from suspension and many fans pointed it out today.

We think Phillips will be a Premier League player next season whatever happens to Leeds.

But we're praying Leeds can go up with him.
