Leeds United owners 49ers Enterprises will be looking to embarrass Andrea Radrizzani after making a new claim against the £24.4million legal settlement over Jean-Kevin Augustin under the previous owner.

According to AP News [21 September], Leeds have lodged an appeal with the Court of Arbitration for Sport [CAS] over the settlement which was delivered during Radrizzani's ownership, as they look to show up his own legal case.

Radrizzani had also previously lodged an appeal with CAS but was unsuccessful in overturning the order to pay RB Leipzig a £5.8million first instalment towards his transfer agreement in the 2019/20 season.

The latest appeal comes against the £24.4million payment order from FIFA in March after it was determined they were in breach of the five-year contract agreed with Augustin in the 2019/20 season.

If the 49ers are able to win their case, it will be another display of the incompetence the club suffered under their former owner and a big step forward for Leeds in terms of their financial position by keeping hold of the £24.4million they had previously been ordered to pay.

In their purchase of the club over the summer, the new owners inherited the legal payments and will make further claims against the ruling during Radrizzani's tenure, which could see them save money they would certainly rather have on the books.

49ers Enterprises will certainly feel they have a strong case to appeal against the decision, otherwise, they would not have entered into the long-winded legal process which plagued the former owner, and they will now be looking to embarrass him once more by winning the case.
