Daniel Farke could potentially be looking over his shoulders at Leeds United after 49ers Enterprises sacked Russell Martin at Rangers.

The German manager hasn't had the best start to the Premier League campaign, as the Whites sit 15th in the table after seven matches.

Farke's future at Elland Road was under speculation in the summer, but Paraag Marathe came out and publicly backed him after the Peacocks won the Championship title.

The 49ers expect Premier League survival in LS11 after investing a significant sum in the previous transfer window, and the 48-year-old head coach needs to make sure he achieves that goal.

Farke has impressed the Whites' hierarchy after the team's performances in the English top flight, according to Leeds Live.

The news outlet reports on 6 October that while the decision-makers at Elland Road feel the West Yorkshire outfit could have had more points on the table, they realise that there's still a long way to go in the season.

With Martin being sacked at Rangers after just 123 days in charge, one must wonder whether the 49ers, who have a stake in the Glaswegian outfit, will be patient with the German manager in LS11.

It looks like the American owners are backing the former Norwich City boss for the time being, acknowledging that there will be ups and downs during the season.

While the Whites have certainly performed well on occasion, the 5-0 loss to Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium should serve as an example that Farke needs to improve his team's defensive performance.

The West Yorkshire outfit play Burnley, West Ham United, Brighton and Nottingham Forest after the international break, and the German manager should look to get at least eight points from those fixtures.

Elland Road angst can't be taken for granted by Daniel Farke

It wouldn't be surprising to see the German manager pack his bags before the end of the season if Leeds aren't in a secure position in the coming months.

The Elland Road faithful have had mixed feelings about Farke since last season, and some fans in LS11 wouldn't mind seeing a change in the dugout.

While supporters want to see the West Yorkshire outfit playing free-flowing football, results are all that matter for now.
