'0-3 Leeds win incoming', 'Oh my god' – Many Leeds fans react to Phil Hay Twitter message

A career in print magazines that included editing PC Zone, launching PokerPlayer and redesigning The Big Issue has finally led Dave to writing about the love of his life, Leeds United. It’s been a tough 2020 but the single scariest moment was the first quarter of the game against Man City. Rodrigo will be the saviour this season.

If Leeds United needed any motivation for the game at Griffin Park tonight, they've surely found it in an unusually bullish statement from Brentford manager Thomas Frank.

In his pre-match press conference, as quoted by Athletic journalist Phil Hay, Frank said that his side have "more momentum" than Leeds and that Bielsa's men couldn't have picked a worse place to play on Tuesday.

Hay said he was "surprised" to see such a bold statement ahead of a Championship game and there are plenty of Leeds fans who think it could play into our hands at Griffin Park.

This, while not necessarily untrue, is a very bold statement for a manager to make. Surprised to see Frank be so, well, frank:https://t.co/14RsWJklOW

One fan was shocked Frank had said this, tweeting, "Oh my god please let us do them in", while plenty of other supporters implored Bielsa to print it out and put it on the dressing room wall.

Even BBC pundit Ian Wright got in on the act saying, "Easy to get the lads motivated now."

It is an odd thing to do before such a big game and we're desperately hoping that his words come back to bite him.

Easy to get the lads motivated now 💪🏾

It's not that what he's saying isn't based in fact, it's just not the sort of thing a manager normally comes out with before a big game.

Leeds might not have a great record in London but that has to end soon – it's not like there's anything in the City that makes the games harder.

A Leeds win followed by an interview from a sheepish Frank after the game would be our idea of heaven.

In the meantime, here are the best reactions from newly-motivated Leeds fans...

Ah, the Championship, where we find ourselves involved in mind games with clubs like sodding Brentford. Just get us out of this godforsaken league please.

Bielsa needs to print this out and put it on the dressing room wall! @LiamCooper__ @lukeayling_8 @Patrick_Bamford

That’s the team talk done then. Blue tax to the wall

And that statement should be stuck on the lufc dressing room wall 😏

0-3 Leeds win incoming 👊🏼😎

Team talk done. Crazy to write a team off such as ourselves tomorrow night. Regardless of the form and history at Brentford

Pin that up on the dressing room wall

Nothing like a statement like that to fire you up if you needed it.
— Lyns (@lynslufc) February 10, 2020

Surely he’s just given us all we need to motivate ourselves for the game?! Spread this all over the walls!!
