Daniel Farke’s Leeds United journey
Daniel Farke was the man chosen by 49ers Enterprises to spearhead the push for promotion following relegation from the Premier League in the 2022-23 season. The Whites would suffer play-off heartbreak at Wembley against Southampton in his first campaign, having lost out in a thrilling tussle for automatic promotion out of the Championship. But Leeds would bounce back, winning the second tier in the following campaign to return the promised land. There is still work to do to retain their top-flight status, but they remain well-positioned to do so. Long term, opinion is often divided among the fanbase over whether Farke is the man to turn Leeds into an established Premier League outfit once again, but for now he is the man entrusted to do so.
Daniel Farke’s road to Leeds United
Prior to joining Leeds in July 2023, Farke had spells with German minnows SV Lippstadt 08 and coached Borussia Dortmund’s second team. He enjoyed success at Norwich City, twice winning promotion to the Premier League, before his joined Krasnodar but never too charge of a game. He then had a 12-month spell at Borussia Monchengladbach before he was appointed at Elland Road.
