Simon Wood buzzing after what Leeds United women did v Doncaster Belles
Leeds United Women have enjoyed a good campaign so far and sit third in the table, as they look towards promotion this term.
However, the Whites have struggled to get going again since the return from the winter break, having lost twice as well as having several games postponed due to the weather.
Sitting seven points away from Cheadle Town means Leeds have plenty of work to do this term but with a game in hand over their rivals, anything is possible.
Leeds United victorious against Doncaster Belles
Leeds took on Doncaster Belles on Wednesday (12 February) which proved to be a dramatic clash as the Whites came away winners with a 6-3 win.
Doncaster Belles are a struggling side this term as they find themselves sitting 11th in the league, two points above Fylde at the bottom of the table.
The West Yorkshire outfit took the lead in the local game after just eight minutes through a Darcie Green goal.
However, the squad kept their momentum late on and scored their sixth goal in the 94th minute through Amy Woodruff.
Although the Belles put up a good fight, Leeds proved to be the dominant Yorkshire force on the evening picking up points to get them back on track.

Leeds United given big boost in Doncaster Belles win
While three points were naturally the most important thing for Leeds on the evening, Simon Wood will have been buzzing with the number of goalscorers.
Leeds had four different goalscorers on the evening with Woodruff and Jess Rousseau both netting braces while Green and Drew Greene both getting one.
The Whites boss will be relieved as it shows that his side has the talent to succeed throughout the squad, something which Woodruff has already alluded to herself this term.
This is vital for the West Yorkshire outfit if they want to push themselves all the way this season as Leeds need to be able to cope with the amount of games they have and rely on everyone.
The league is hard with gaps between games sometimes too long to easily get into a rhythm but this only shows why Wood will be grateful to have the players in his team to allow him to change things when needed and bring energy into the team.
The season is starting to come to the final run and Leeds certainly have a job on their hands if they want to reach the top of the table this term but a massive win in the Derby game will surely push Wood’s side on the build off this momentum.
Furthermore, even if this campaign doesn’t end in the way that the Whites hope it will, there is no reason why a strong run of results now can inspire thoughts of promotion next season.
