Simon Wood will be fuming at Leeds United Women vs Chorley Women development
Leeds United Women have had yet another match postponed in a development that will only further frustrate manager Simon Wood.
The FAWNL Division One North clash with Chorley Women at Bannister Prentice Stadium on Sunday (11 February) was called off due to a waterlogged pitch.
Leeds confirmed the news in an official statement on their website, with a new date for the fixture yet to have been set.
The decision to call the game off, which is ultimately out of the club’s hands, further disrupts what has been a stop-start period.
Leeds United Women’s fixtures backlog
Only last week, Wood admitted his side have found it difficult to find any real rhythm in the league due to various disruptions.
Indeed, Leeds have played just three Division One North matches since the end of November, with cup competitions taking priority.
United have now played three games fewer than leaders Middlesbrough, who they are 10 points worse off than.
“There’s been a lot of disruptions with the cup competitions, Wood told Leeds United TV [4 February].

“The league campaign has been stop-start, but this month we have three fixtures.”
Unfortunately for Wood, three possible fixtures has now become two unless the Chorley game is hastily rescheduled.
Next up in the league is a showdown with neighbours York City on 21 February. Let’s just hope nothing gets in the way of this fixture.
