Beth Guy shares Leeds United Women promotion verdict after transfer
Beth Guy insists that Leeds United Women can get promoted this season.
The midfielder joined the Whites on 12 October from promotion rivals Middlesbrough where she was instrumental last season.
After arriving in West Yorkshire, Guy shared her verdict on whether Leeds have what it takes to get promoted this term.
“I am really excited to get going,” she told LUTV (15 October). “It is definitely a new challenge, but it is something that I am relishing and I can’t wait to get going.
“I have always thought Leeds were a good side. I have never hidden away from that. I have always said Leeds are a good footballing side and I have been impressed in their games this season. I think they are relishing the challenge to try and get to the top of the table.
“I think the challenge when I had spoken to Simon about coming to Leeds is promotion. I think it is definitely something that I want to achieve with Leeds and I think it is definitely doable. Leeds have a great team already, so hopefully I can just add to that.”
Beth Guy boosts Leeds United Women promotion hopes
Leeds United Women find themselves second in the FA Women’s National League Division One, just four points behind league leaders, Middlesbrough.
The team are in solid form this term and are on course to push Boro all the way for the title.
Simon Woods’ team have won three of their last five outings across all competitions, with consistency key to get to that next level.
Thanks to last-minute winners from the likes of Jess Rousseau against Durham Cestria or hard-fought victories against Cheadle Town, the 2024/25 season seems to be shaping up as one for fans to remember.

There’s still plenty of time left in the season for things to change of course but the addition of Guy will have no doubt boosted their chances of promotion.
The Whites’ next game is a home clash against Barnsley on 27 October and they’ll no doubt be looking to get one-up over their Yorkshire rivals and potentially close the gap to Boro.
