Yanis Begraoui passes first Leeds United audition with performance vs FC Porto
Yanis Begraoui was on the scoresheet for Estoril against FC Porto with Leeds United scouts in attendance.
While recruitment plans are still at the back of people’s minds, Leeds have already slowly started drawing up a list of targets for the summer window.
And among those players is Begraoui, who has had a fine campaign in Portugal with Estoril.
The 24-year-old was on the scoresheet again, but was unable to prevent his side from falling to a 301 defeat at home to Porto on Sunday.
As revealed by MOT Leeds News, Leeds had scouts monitoring Begraoui, and they will have certainly gained a lot more information about their target.

Yanis Begraoui shines despite defeat vs Porto
Leeds are certainly keen on signing Begraoui this summer, but there is always a risk when signing players from foreign leagues.
However, performances against European sides like Porto are often a good way of deciphering how good they truly are, and for Begraoui, he will certainly have made an impression.

| Passes completed | 21 |
| Dribbles completed | 2 |
The 24-year-old scored with his only shot in the game, which had a recorded xG of just 0.09.
Begraoui received the ball on the turn and fired a low, left-footed effort into the far bottom corner, beating Diogo Costa with relative ease.

However, there were several other aspects of his game that would have impressed Leeds, with his 88 per cent pass accuracy from 24 attempted passes being one of them.
He completed two of his four attempted dribbles and won three ground duels on the day.
Will Leeds persue a deal for Begraoui?
Much of that will come down to which division the Whites are in next season, though Sunderland certainly did them a favour on Sunday with a 1-0 win over Tottenham.
Should Leeds be successful in their attempts to stay in the Premier League, then a move for Begraoui would make perfect sense, given the momentum and form he has showcased this season.
But on top of that, he is highly unlikely to command a big fee.
Leeds need more depth in the forward areas, and Begraoui would be the perfect addition to achieve that across various positions in the forward line.
