Troy Parrott: Leeds United move for Irishman unlikely as top Premier League dream shared
Troy Parrott to Leeds United has been touted for several months, with the Whites not the only side looking to snap up the Irishman.
A move for the AZ striker would ultimately be decided by Leeds’ Premier League status as they remain in the fight for survival.
Parrott has taken the football world by storm this season, going viral for his heroics for the Republic of Ireland while also scoring 27 goals in 39 appearances across all competitions for AZ.
However, even if Daniel Farke were to keep the Elland Road side in the top flight, Leeds could still be ruled out of a transfer for Parrott.

Why are Leeds unlikely to sign Troy Parrott?
With the form Parrott has been in this season, the Dublin-born forward is likely to be on the radar of many teams across Europe.
The Independent has revealed that AC Milan and Inter are among those that could make a summer move for the forward.
However, while the allure of the Premier League may still be an incentive in Leeds’ favour, it appears their position in the table could prove costly in the move.
A move back to England is currently only said to be likely if a top-10 club comes in, though.

Unfortunately for Leeds, this effectively rules them out of the chase for the Irish striker, as they are currently embroiled in a relegation battle.
It would take quite the U-turn for the 24-year-old to end up at Elland Road in the summer. However, Parrott would provide more than Dominic Calvert-Lewin can for Leeds.
A striker must be signed by Leeds in the summer
Calvert-Lewin’s current run of form proves that the Englishman needs more competition next season in LS11.
Results have faltered, with the striker unable to find the net. The Whites have not won any of the last four games.
Additionally, out of the six wins the Elland Road side have achieved in the Premier League since Calvert-Lewin was available to play, they have won just two of those without the Englishman scoring.

The reliance on the 29-year-old is an issue, especially when he is out of form, and that is why a new centre-forward must be signed in the summer.
It may not be Parrott, but the Whites need another proven goalscorer, whether or not they stay up this season.
