Lucas Perri has had a terrible time at Leeds United, with the Brazilian falling to second-choice goalkeeper just months after arriving.

Perri was meant to be Illan Meslier’s long-term replacement, but instead it has been Karl Darlow who has been called upon in the Premier League.

Daniel Farke has pointed out countless mistakes the Brazilian has made but also shared his praise when he stepped up in the FA Cup.

However, that inconsistency lies at the heart of the problem that the Peacocks have found themselves in, with Perri ultimately becoming a flop.

Now, as Leeds’ summer transfer window looms, Perri must surely be on the chopping block, as one stat does not bode well.

Perri’s future in LS11 will undoubtedly be in question, especially after his placement for a key goalkeeping metric.

Out of every goalkeeper this season to make at least 10 appearances, Perri comes in last for save percentage. His 56.1 per cent ranks him bottom, with the closest to him being Wolves’ Jose Sa at 60.9 per cent.

Overall, it is not a statistic the Brazilian will want to have to his name, and ultimately it is one that should make the 49ers think.

The Whites will need to bring in a goalkeeper next season, with Meslier’s and Darlow’s contracts coming to an end.

Although Darlow may have earned himself an extension.

However, this reveal about Perri may make it worthwhile to conduct a full overhaul in that department. The 28-year-old has simply not been good enough and the Whites should look to cash in.

In the winter, Turkish side Besiktas did enquire about signing him, so there may be plenty of suitors out there.

Lucas Perri’s value has already tanked this season

Leeds purchased Perri for £15.6million package, which may have been seen as a coup at the time.

However, with his performances this campaign, he has now dropped below that price according to Transfermarkt.

The Brazilian has gone from being worth £15.6m down to just £11.3m. The LS11 outfit would be lucky to recoup the total cost of their outlay for the shot-stopper.

Overall, the signs are certainly not looking good for the Elland Road goalkeeper, and parting ways may be the best for everyone involved, even at a loss.
