Leeds United unlikely to have much choice over Pascal Struijk summer transfer links
Leeds United defender Pascal Struijk is attracting plenty of transfer attention.
The 26-year-old centre-back has been outstanding at Elland Road this season, taking on a crucial role in the Whites’ bid to beat the Premier League drop.
Under contract until 2027, he is known to be immensely valued by Daniel Farke, but there is no denying that his future at the club depends on whether they are relegated or not.
He is certainly not agitating for a move away, but it would be difficult to blame him should he decide to take on a new adventure away from Yorkshire next campaign.
Leeds will want Struijk to stay, but they may not have much say in the matter.

Leeds can’t turn down big Pascal Struijk offers
The three-cap Netherlands international will tick down into the final 12 months of his deal this summer, leaving Leeds with awkward questions to answer over what’s next.
He was signed in a cut-price deal back in 2018, initially as an academy prospect, but managed to rise up into the first-team and become one of Farke’s valued undroppables.
| Player | Pascal Struijk | Cristian Romero | Virgil van Dijk | Trevoh Chalobah |
| Matches | 28 | 22 | 31 | 29 |
| Clean sheets | 5 | 4 | 9 | 9 |
| Tackles per game | 1.1 | 2.5 | 0.6 | 1.2 |
| Blocked shots per game | 0.6 | 0.6 | 0.5 | 0.5 |
| Clearances per game | 6.4 | 4.1 | 7.5 | 5.7 |
| Aerial duels won per game (%) | 56 | 72 | 76 | 53 |
| Accurate passes per game (%) | 88 | 87 | 89 | 93 |
However, the manner in which he joined means that any sale would go down as pure profit. As a result, Leeds may be forced to weigh up selling Struijk, especially if they go down.
Various reports have indicated he is valued at around £30million, but owing to the fact that he is about to be in the last year of his contract, that price tag looks unrealistic.
Regardless, even a deal worth half of that would allow Leeds to reinvest directly in the summer market, so it is only logical for the Yorkshire outfit to consider letting him go.
Any departure, of course, would likely hinge on them sourcing a replacement.
But there will be no shortage of interest. Tottenham could swoop for Struijk to strengthen Roberto De Zerbi’s backline if they stay up, while Chelsea are also in need of defenders.

It would also make sense for Liverpool and Newcastle to mount an approach.
Is Struijk irreplaceable at Leeds?
Yes and no is the slightly stilted answer.
While his defensive statistics are strong, it is his attacking output where his talent has shone. He has completed 88 per cent of his passes in the Premier League this season.
His 2.1 accurate long balls per game have also allowed Leeds to spring forward on direct attacks, making them a dangerous threat in their bid to steer clear of the bottom three.
That type of composure when playing out from the back is hard to come by, and finding a successor would require careful scouting and a significant amount to spend.
Farke will understandably be reluctant to let him go, but he may well have his hand forced. Either way, this will be a situation to keep a close eye on over the coming weeks.
