Leeds United: Troy Parrott shows why Premier League move inevitable as footage emerges from Alkmaar win

Troy Parrott has been linked with Leeds United among several other Premier League clubs.

Survival remains the one and only thing on the minds of everyone at Leeds United, but once the outcome of that battle has been revealed, all eyes will be on the summer transfer window.

Despite what has been a solid campaign for the Whites, it’s clear that there are a lot of improvements to be made to the squad, with their forward options certainly set to be one of their priorities.

Parrott is one of those who has been linked with Leeds, and his display in AZ Alkmaar’s 4-0 win over Heracles showcased exactly why that interest needs to be turned into a transfer.

Troy Parrott can do something Dominic Calvert-Lewin can’t

First things first, Dominic Calvert-Lewin has had a solid season for Leeds, despite his struggles recently.

Had it not been for his 10 Premier League goals, Leeds would likely be dead and buried in the battle against relegation already.

With that said, his impact in games when he isnt scoring goals is minimal, and that is the complete opposite of what can be said about Parrott, who registered two assists in AZ Alkmaar’s latest win.

And they weren’t your standard assists either, with footage emerging of the Republic of Ireland international controlling a ball in flight, before lobbing it over the top of a defender to play in his teammate, who finished with ease.

That was his fifth assist of the campaign for Alkmaar, compared to the one that Calvert-Lewin has managed in all competitions for Leeds.

The Whites need a striker who can do it all, and Parrott is their man.

How much would Leeds have to pay for Parrott?

Given the form he has showcased throughout his time in Holland, Parrott won’t be a bargain signing, so to speak.

However, he remains one who must be looked into after the heroics he has displayed on a weekly basis.

It was claimed that AZ would want £20million for Parrott, who joined the Dutch outfit for just £6.7m back in the summer of 2024.

At that price, though, it would be a no-brainer, given the way he would completely change the look of Leeds’ forward line.
